In 1996, he received a gubernatorial appointment to Louisiana's Insurance Rating Commission, where he served for 11 years. In 2020 he published his first book, "Don’t Knock the Rock", an autobiography showing how you can achieve any goal if you practice your PKDs (Prayer, Knowledge and Determination). Rock’s most recent philanthropic work involves building a baseball field for the Money Hill Youth Athletic Club.
